Cremation

Barbara’s body will be cremated at Pentrebychan crematorium on 8th January 2021. Due to COVID19 restrictions the number of attendees if very limited and travel is difficult, therefore the family have suggested that only the immediate family attend. We will be having music for a few minutes of quiet reflection in the crematorium. We will be preparing a card and music which can be made available by post and will be available on this site after the service. If you would like a physical version to be posted please get in touch.

Later in the year we will arrange event(s) to celebrate Barbara’s life, we would like to have a service of thanksgiving in Chirk Methodist Church where Barbara was an active part of the congregation. We would like to see family and friends of Barbara’s for a walk, BBQ, or other related gathering to share memories about Barbara.

Update 08/01/2021

We held a short reflection this morning at Pentrebychan crematorium near Wrexham. The family were very touched by the many people in the village who came out to line the road as the funeral party departed, all of those who have sent cards, messages and donations and all the thoughts and good wishes we have received.

While we all have a Barbara sized hole in our lives we look forward to celebrating Barbara’s life with everyone who loved her as soon and in as many ways as we can.

  1. Hi Stan and family,
We were so sad to hear of Barbara’s illness and passing. We may be half a world away, but we will miss knowing that Barbara is not a part of it.
Unfortunately we are not able to join you for Barbara’s cremation and want you to know that our thoughts are with you and family, as they have been over the last few months.
We will always have such happy memories of Barbara. Her spirit, her laugh, the millionaires shortbread, the joy and strength that Barbara’s love and friendship have given mum and dad, Barbara’s interest in and support of my and Kate’s life, Barbara’s love of and kindness for Lauren and Lucy – and Abba songs have taken on a completely new dimension since our last visit.
We will miss her so very much.
    All our love,
Gary, Kate, Lauren & Lucy x

I have written a card which I wanted to hand you personally today but unfortunately circumstances are against us. We are here with you online throughout the morning, and we will spend some time looking through the photos, eating some millionaires shortbread and remembering the fabulous lady that Barbara was.
Barbara was an incredible lady who was a huge part of our family and will be missed in so many ways. Her infectious laugh, her warmth and love towards our family and her kindness in everything she did for us will be lasting memories.
Jane and David – she was so incredibly proud of you two.
We want to send our love to all of you today and although we can’t be with you, we are holding your hands every step of the way.
    All our love
    Derick, Clare, Chloe and Luke
    xxxxxxx
